The medically proven diet that help restore our body’s essential nutritional balance.  “Good fats”–also called essential fatty acids–influence every aspect of our being, from the beating of our hearts to our ability to learn to remember. There are 2 types of essential fatty acids (EFAs), omega-6 and omega-3. Our modern diet contains far more omega-6 fatty acids than the needed omega-3s. This imbalance diet makes people more vulnerable to health problems such as heart disease, cancer, obesity, autoimmune diseases, allergies, diabetes, and depression.

Why we need omega-3 food? They are an integral part of cell membranes throughout the body and affect the function of the cell receptors in these membranes. They provide the starting point for making hormones that regulate blood clotting, contraction and relaxation of artery walls, and inflammation. They also bind to receptors in cells that regulate genetic function. Likely due to these effects, omega-3 fats have been shown to help prevent heart disease and stroke, may help control lupus, eczema, and rheumatoid arthritis, and other conditions.

Sacha Inchi Oil is a nutritious plant-based oil that is very rich in Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids that supports overall good health in particularly the heart, brain, immune system and skin and hair. Omega-3 fatty acids are needed but cannot be made by the body so we must get them from food. They are called essential fatty acids. Our bodies need these essential fatty acids to function normally.

Balancing Omega-3 and Omega-6
Human beings evolved on a diet that was balance in the Omega-6 and Omega-3 essential fatty acids. In general , Omega-3s have an anti-inflammatory effect on the body while Omega 6s have a pro-inflammatory effect. Both Omega-3 and Omega-6 are needed for optimal health but they need to be in balance. Too much Omega-6 in relation to Omega-3 has a negative effect on health.

Foods high in Omega-3 include fish, vegetable oils, nuts (especially walnuts), flax seeds, flaxseed oil, and leafy vegetables.

Omega 3 health benefits
The human body can make most of the types of fats it needs from other fats or raw materials. That isn’t the case for omega-3 fatty acids (also called omega-3 fats and n-3 fats).
These are essential fats—the body can’t make them from scratch but must get them from food.

In a paper published in Nutrition et Sante in 2010, Dr Artemis Simopoulos, a leading international expert on essential fatty acids, proposes an omega-3 to omega-6 ratio of 1:1 to 1:2 as the general target ratio.
